YouTube sensation Danny Malin has announced he’s quitting as being the face of Rate My Takeaway.
Danny has grown Rate My Takeaway into one of the UK’s most popular YouTube channels and built a social media following in the millions.
Yorkshireman Danny shot to fame during the pandemic for his hilarious Facebook videos working at a Butchers.
The food reviewer quickly ‘broke the internet’ becoming a hit on YouTube with over 500 million views, and acquiring nearly 800k subscribers.
Danny said: “I’ve put my heart, soul and entire life into building Rate My Takeaway.
“The fans have been amazing, and stuck by me.
“I will keep creating content so I hope they you will all continue to join me for my journey.”
In a video for Mr and Mrs Yorkshire channel which Dannt runs with his wife Sophie Mei Lan, he said: “I love food reviewing and chatting to everyone but there’s been challenges behind the scenes that have taken its toll on my health.
“As you know there’s always been me, editor and cameraman in this team and we all get paid the same. We are all equal parties in the business except they’ve not allowed me equal access to RMT’s social media or YouTube channel, so I can’t control comments.
“Nor am I in control of the Danny Malin Facebook page.”
Danny said he remains optimistic and “excited about the future.”
Danny will continue creating content, run his food courts, as well as spending time focusing on his health and family life.
He added: “I had two strokes 18 months ago and that put life into perspective.
“My family and friends have been amazing and I’ve been so scared to leave my role as presenter of the channel because it means so much to me but now is the right time to re-establish myself as Danny.
“I’ll be back on the road before we know it.”
Danny’s famed for his unique catchphrases: “Now then guys back ont the road again…” to putting his infamous “knackercracker” away, and sending farewells to fans in his videos: “See you soon guys,”
Danny is not only a Youtuber, he presents on TV, writes a column, hosts events and has released Christmas hits with Toddla T.
