Mr and Mrs Yorkshire become official: Danny Malin and Sophie Mei Lan announce wedding date: ‘Can we plan a wedding in two months?’ 

he star behind Rate My Takeaway youtube channel and a former Britain’s Got Talent finalist have just revealed the date their due to wed giving themselves just two months to organise their ‘big day.’ 

Former Leeds butcher Danny Malin turned Youtuber popped the question to Britain’s Got Talent bellydancer and Journalist Sophie Mei Lan from Sheffield, late last year after a whirlwind romance. 

Danny said: “When you meet your soulmate there’s no messing around. Life’s too short.” 

Danny, 43, and Sophie, 35, who are expecting their first baby together have set a date to marry on June 10 2023 in Leeds.

“Expect entertainment, street food, lots of surprises and a lot of laughter and dance,” said Sophie who wants the wedding to be Yorkshire themed with a touch of the orient as a nod to her heritage.

Sophie added: “We will officially become Mr and Mrs Yorkshire the nickname people gave us so we want to make sure we celebrate the best of God’s Own County by using Yorkshire suppliers.”

The pair will be vlogging their day as well as it being professional filmed, photographed and live streamed.

Danny said: “So far we have the venues booked finally and are working with York wedding suppliers who are helping us out.

“So now we’re on the hunt for last minute caterers or street food vans, suit suppliers, flowers, entertainers and all the other trimmings of a wedding I’ve probably forgotten. 

“For us it was all about booking the church first and now we’re building on that.”

Danny and Sophie will be busy planning their wedding which takes place at Leeds Minister followed by a wedding breakfast and party at the Aria Suite in Leeds which is owned by the Sheepscar Bar and Grill. 

Sophie said: “I am checking out Bridal Reloved York for a wedding dress, Shaheen Bridals for hair and makeup, Wake Bespoke for bridesmaid dresses, Claire from Unique Hair Combs who up cycles Vintage brooches into hair combs and also has a range of vintage jewellery to complement them, Robert Harrison Photography, Apple Tree Cakery York can make fruit or sponge cakes, Spruce York, Lottie Roberts Flowers, Nikki Pix Photography, Night Owl Discos, Bunny Loves Evie crown), Jacis of York wax melts.”
